Pirates Assault v1.1 update comes with Scoreloop integration, a first for any Windows Phone game

My favorite Tower defense game on Windows Phone just got better. Pirate Assault was previously covered on WPSauce, since then the game has been doing quite well as well as receiving rave reviews in the marketplace. Initially it launched with 4 levels but now with v1.1 a new level has been included. Not only that but Pirates Assault developers Dagari Studios have been able to accomplish something which hasn't been implemented before, Scoreloop integration in a windows phone game.

v1.1 update changelog:

New in version 1.1:- Scoreloop integration!- Survival mode with increasing difficulty and random paths- New Level 5- Level completion status now showing up on leaderboards- Some improvements to Level 4

For those who aren't aware, Scoreloop is a social gaming environment much like Openfeint on iOS. I have to add, I am shocked that Microsoft didn't object to this. Apple has a good relationship with Openfeint because Openfeint clearly does social gaming better than their native GameCenter ecosystem. I always imagined XBL as the only ecosystem that Microsoft plans to push via Windows Phone OS, but that apparently it isn't true and it's a good thing, IMO. More choice, the better. Not every game can get XBL certified.
Scoreloop has a private beta SDK available ( for Windows Phone) so if you are a developer, apply here.

Looks like Microsoft is giving alternate gaming eco systems a chance. How long before OpenFeint integration comes in too? Let's not get off topic. Download Pirate Assault v1.1 from download link below.

p.s - Scoreloop was just bought by Blackberry. Woops.
