After HTC, General Dynamics Itronix will pay Microsoft royalties for using Android

It wasn't a long time ago, when we reported about the HTC - Microsoft patent settlement news where HTC was required to pay $5 , as royalties, per Android device sold which is less than the licensing fees for Windows Phone, which is $15 according to Asymco.

Microsoft has sued a bunch of Android manufacturers and one of them today finally gave up and reached patent settlement with Microsoft. More from Reuters :
Microsoft Corp. and General Dynamics Itronix have signed a patent agreement that provides broad coverage under Microsoft’s patent portfolio for General Dynamics Itronix devices running the Android platform. Although the contents of the agreement have not been disclosed, the parties indicate that Microsoft will receive royalties from General Dynamics Itronix under the agreement

At the moment, we have no details on the 'royalties' which Microsoft will be receiving very soon from the company.
After a quick Google search, somewhat seemingly insignificant General Dynamics Itronix turns out to be the makers of various rugged portable devices aimed at military, law enforcement, etc. Indirectly, Microsoft is assisting a lot of people. Not a bad way to get some good karma!

The device in question here is GD 300 which is rugged commercial wearable computer for military and law enforcers which runs on Android. So every time GD Itronix sells the above mentioned device to law enforcers / peace keepers - they'll most probably have to pay Microsoft per device as royalty. Whoops.

Horacio Gutierrez, Deputy General Counsel at MS, in a statement said:
We are pleased to have reached this agreement with General Dynamics Itronix, which is an example of how industry leaders address intellectual property
