Nokia is planning to launch their 'make or break' device in Q4 this year. Without a doubt, this will be the most important release for Nokia. They cannot go wrong here. Chris Davis from Slashgear wrote a fantastic piece (Must read) highlighting Nokia's challenges and how Nokia is gearing up for their biggest and most crucial launch ever. I am quoting an interesting part of the piece below:
Less than 4-5 months left for the supposed launch of Nokia's first Windows Phone and we have absolutely no clue about it. Well, Nokia plans to keep the phone out of public reach for as long as possible. You have better odds of finding Nokia's WP7 device in a bar than a spy shot from shady websites. This so called ' controlled ' environment has worked for Apple for years and sort of helps in building the hype which is extremely important at the moment for Nokia.

Talk to anybody in Nokia, and it’s clear they’re aware of the potential if they can only get the first Windows Phone launch right. That’s why the iron shutters are down around development: as one of the product team told me yesterday, it’s “Apple-style” secrecy right now. Well known industry players are finding their sources inside the company drying up. The 12-18 month long development cycles of before – during which time leaks were pretty much the rule and not the exception – have been clamped down upon, hurried up and shrouded in a new level of secrecy.

“If we can build the same hype around our first Windows Phone as Apple does about iPhone…” one told me longinglyOh, in case you missed: we did catch Stephen Elop with a Nokia device running WP7 at a hockey match, so if you can't wait to see the next Nokia device, stalkers to the rescue.
