Microsoft Tells Hackers To 'Tinker Away' with Windows Phone Mango

Since Windows Phone 7 was a much needed, but complete break away from the old Windows Mobile 6.5, a lot of developers and mobile owners were stranded when was announced that there would be no upgrading from Windows Mobile 6.5 to Windows Phone 7. That didn't stop the determined and creative dev community from getting this HD2 to run Windows Phone Mango, but what does Microsoft have to say to this ?

“We say tinker away with Mango and enjoy the juice,” said Microsoft spokesman Bill Cox. “But beware the fine print — unlocking phones may void your warranty.” This reaction is markedly different from how other fruity mobile companies have responded to the dev community but Microsoft has had cordial relationships with the hacking community in the past. Windows Phone devices will be getting the free Mango update this fall.
