Preview of the upcoming v1.10 update of NextGen Reader for Windows Phone

Before we begin, please make sure to read our list of Top RSS readers for Windows Phone 7. NextGen reader did make it to the list scoring high points on both performance and features plus some extra points on the interface. NextGen reader team is working hard to frequently update the application and they should continue to keep at it since the competition is neck to neck at the moment. A new update is coming out (v1.10) and we have got our hands on with it. Read more about the new features after the break :

  •  improved performance and battery life with upto 25% less memory usage.
The update has significantly improved the performance, the app feels a lot smoother now.
  •  increased feed quota to 1000 articles.

Finally!
  •  new application theme with teal color.

Gotta say, Teal seems nice but I am still in love with the Light theme ;)

  •  new toast messages for various notifications e.g. sent to instapaper, read it later.
Seems pretty nifty. I wish they could implement the same for update notification when unread feed reaches a certain limit ( Eg- as soon as I have 50 unread feeds, I have a toast notification telling me about it or rather notifying me about it )
  •  hold on feed title to show quick toolbar in article view and single tap to resize images.

Instantly fell in love with this feature. This is probably the most useful feature for me in the changelog. Saves a  lot of time.
  •  fixed multiple crashes seen during refresh or using back button to return to application.
  •  many other changes and bugfixes.

That's quite a lot of updates for this version (we will update the post with the changelog once it get's published in marketplace).
I am seriously hoping they come up with live tiles for un read feeds in the next update. Feed me, RSS app also featured in our list, is doing a fine job with Live tiles at the moment.
NGR is without a doubt one of the best RSS app on the marketplace, plus the developers are responsive too.  So no reason not to buy this application if you are a heavy RSS user like me. The update will be coming soon in the marketplace.
